The graceful scrollwork of the Golden Gates, William Kent's magnificent ceiling in the King's Drawing Room and the understated elegance of Queen Victoria's mourning dress each revealed a different chapter of the palace's rich history. Every motif offered an opportunity to reinterpret the past through a contemporary lens.
